Welcome.
This book discusses some question command words that you will find in your assessment. The key goal is to get you interested in exploring and seeking to understand command words so that you can use them properly in your study program.
The command words are sometimes referred to as examination command words, and that is a fitting label because you can use the command words to examine what you are studying.
Examining means to scrutinise or look closely and carefully at something. The purpose of an examination is to get the necessary details in order to understand and make sound decisions.
Command words help you to dig into the material you are studying and to interact with it at different levels of engagement.
Some command words might require you to simply sate facts, recognise features, etc. Such commands are drawing from your ability to remember bits of information. Examples are: Name, label, state, etc
Some command words require you to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the subject matter. they may require you to give reasons for why things behave a certain way or why one thing works in a certain situation but not in another. Examples are: explain, discuss, evaluate, etc.
Some command words require you to demonstrate application of a practical skill. Examples are: create, measure, etc
This book offers you a basic understanding of selected command words. Use them to explore various topics and take responsibility to learn and use other command words that are not covered here.
